Uses

• Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension)

• Management of chest pain (angina pectoris)

• Helps prevent heart-related complications like heart attack and stroke by lowering blood pressure

How It Works

• Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB).

• It relaxes and widens blood vessels, improving blood flow and lowering blood pressure.

• Reduces the workload on the heart and prevents chest pain due to lack of oxygen supply.

Side Effects (possible)

• Headache, dizziness

• Swelling in ankles or feet (edema)

• Flushing (warmth, redness)

• Fatigue, drowsiness

• Nausea, stomach discomfort

• Rare: Low blood pressure, irregular heartbeat

Precautions

• Take at the same time daily for best results

• Do not stop suddenly without doctor’s advice

• Use with caution if you have liver disease, heart failure, or very low blood pressure

• Avoid excessive alcohol (may increase dizziness)
