BILOVAS contains Ginkgo biloba which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidementia agents. It is used in the symptomatic management of circulation, dysfunction, and memory loss due to organic brain changes as part of an overall therapeutic concept in patients with a decline in or loss of acquired cognitive skills (dementia) with primary complaints of impaired memory, difficulty concentrating, depressed mood, dizziness, tinnitus, headaches that occurs in conditions such as stroke (brain damage due to interruption of blood supply to the brain) and Alzheimer's disease (progressive disease that destroys memory and other important mental functions).

Ginkgo biloba works by protecting brain cells from damage due to free radicals, cell death due to aging, and neurodegenerative disorders thus increasing the blood flow to the brain and providing relief from symptoms of dementia, stroke, and Alzheimer's disease. Prior to management, your doctor will check whether the symptoms are not due to an underlying disease that requires specific management.

BILOVAS is not recommended for use in patients who are scheduled for surgery. Before taking BILOVAS, inform your doctor if you have a history of bleeding disorders, fits, frequent dizziness and tinnitus (ringing in the ear), liver, and or kidney disease. BILOVAS is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. It is also not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged less than 18 years). Consult your doctor before taking it. The most common side effect associated with the use of BILOVAS is vascular headache (headache that occurs due to changes in blood vessels in the head or neck). Contact your doctor if this side effect worsens.
