CEFOLAC ORAL SUSPENSION is used in children for the management of bacterial infections. It is used for short-term management of bacterial infections of urinary tract, skin and soft-tissue, ear, bone, blood, abdomen, genital and lungs (pneumonia). It is also used to reduce the risk of getting typhoid fever.
It contains a medicine called Cefixime, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria by interfering with the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall and eventually killing the bacteria.
Give CEFOLAC ORAL SUSPENSION to your child for the stipulated duration instructed by your doctor even if you feel better during the midway of the therapy to achieve better results. Failing to complete the full course of the therapy or skipping doses in between the therapy may not result in adequate infection control.
Before administering CEFOLAC ORAL SUSPENSION to your child, inform your child's doctor if your child is suffering from any stomach problems or kidney problems.
The most common side effects of taking CEFOLAC ORAL SUSPENSION are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain, and bloating. Inform your doctor if they trouble you.

- Ear infections
- Nose, throat or sinus infections (sore throat, sinusitis)
- Chest and lung infections (such as bronchitis, pneumonia)
- Urinary system (such as cystitis and kidney infections)
- Stomach infections (infections of the gut)
- Typhoid fever
