DAONIL 5MG TABLET contains Glibenclamide which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidiabetic agents. It is used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus, when diet and physical exercise alone have not been able to control the blood sugar levels.    

Type 2 diabetes is a disease in which blood sugar levels are too high and the body either doesn't produce enough insulin, or it resists insulin. Symptoms include increased thirst, hunger, urination, feeling tired, blurred vision, numbness or tingling in the feet or hands, sores that do not heal, weight loss.    

Along with this management, your doctor might ask you to make certain lifestyle changes such as eating a healthy diet, not skipping meals & regular exercise. Prior to the management, your doctor may want you to take several blood tests to understand your existing condition.  

Avoid consumption of alcohol during management with DAONIL 5MG TABLET, as it may worsen the side effects. Before taking DAONIL 5MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you suffer from low blood sugar attack, have G6PD deficiency, recovering from an operation or stress.

DAONIL 5MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients who have porphyria, insulin dependent diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, diabetic coma, serious problems with kidneys, liver, adrenal glands, or pituitary glands. DAONIL 5MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. DAONIL 5MG TABLET is also not recommended for use in children. Consult your doctor before taking it.

The most common side effects of taking DAONIL 5MG TABLET are low blood glucose levels characterized by dizziness, sweating, palpitations, hunger pangs, dry mouth and skin.
