DELPOMONT SUSPENSION contains Montelukast which belongs to the group of medicines called Leukotriene Receptor Antagonists. It is used to manage the signs and symptoms of asthma and seasonal allergic rhinitis in infants (aged 6 months or above) and in children (aged between 2-5 years) who have not adequately responded to management with conventional medicines or unable to use oral or inhaled corticosteroids.

DELPOMONT SUSPENSION can also be used to manage bronchospasm (narrowing of airways) triggered due to exercise in children aged 2 years or above.

Asthma is a long-term respiratory disease in which the airways become inflamed, swollen and narrowed. It also causes excessive mucous secretion in the airways which makes it difficult for the air to pass through, leading to unpleasant symptoms like wheezing, difficulty in breathing, chest pain and/or cough.

Seasonal allergic rhinitis (also known as hay fever) is an allergic condition triggered due to exposure of oneself towards various allergens (such as pollens, dusts, mould or flakes of skin from certain animals). It is often characterized by inflammation of the inner lining of nose accompanied by nasal congestion, repeated sneezing and/or a red, watery or itchy eye.

DELPOMONT SUSPENSION can only help in managing an asthma attack. It will not stop an asthma attack that has been started already. Therefore, always carry an inhaled rescue medicine with you for your child or advice your child to carry one with themselves as a precaution.

Make sure that your child takes DELPOMONT SUSPENSION regularly for the duration prescribed by your doctor. Before administering DELPOMONT SUSPENSION to your child, inform your doctor about your child's health condition, pre-existing disease states and allergic status as a precaution.

The most common side effects of administering DELPOMONT SUSPENSION in children are stomach pain, headache, upper respiratory tract infections, skin rash, nausea and vomiting. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect troubles your child.
