Directions of Use
Always dilute Dettol Antiseptic Liquid 4.8% w/v before use according to the specific application. Ensure you read the label carefully for detailed instructions.
- For First Aid (Minor Cuts, Scratches, Bites): Dilute 1 tablespoon (approximately 20ml) of Dettol Antiseptic Liquid 4.8% w/v in 250 ml of water. Gently clean the wound area with the diluted solution to help prevent infection.
- For Personal Hygiene (Bathing): Add 2 capfuls (approximately 40ml) of Dettol Antiseptic Liquid 4.8% w/v to a large bucket of water. Use for a hygienic bath to help reduce the spread of germs.
- For Personal Hygiene (Shaving): Add 1 capful (approximately 20ml) of Dettol Antiseptic Liquid 4.8% w/v to a litre of water. Use this diluted solution for a hygienic shave.
- For Surface Disinfection (Floors, Surfaces): Add 1 capful (approximately 20ml) of Dettol Antiseptic Liquid 4.8% w/v to a litre of water for mopping floors or wiping down surfaces. This helps disinfect and clean your home environment.
- For Laundry Disinfection (Baby Clothes, Nappies, Linens): Add 1 tablespoon (approximately 20ml) of Dettol Antiseptic Liquid 4.8% w/v to 500 ml of water for soaking laundry. This helps sanitise clothes and baby wear.

Side effects
When used as directed and properly diluted, Dettol Antiseptic Liquid 4.8% w/v is generally well-tolerated. However, some individuals with very sensitive skin might experience mild irritation. Direct contact with the undiluted liquid can cause skin irritation or chemical burns. If you experience any skin redness, itching, or discomfort, discontinue use and rinse the area thoroughly with water. If irritation persists, seek medical advice.
