Difizma Capsule is a combination medication prescribed for the maintenance treatment of asthma in adults. It contains three active ingredients: glycopyrronium bromide (63mcg), indacaterol (173mcg), and mometasone furoate (160mcg).

Mechanism of Action:

  • Glycopyrronium Bromide: Acts as an anticholinergic, reducing secretions in the airways and aiding in keeping them open.

  • Indacaterol: A long-acting beta-agonist (LABA) that relaxes and opens the air passages in the lungs, facilitating easier breathing.

  • Mometasone Furoate: A corticosteroid that reduces inflammation in the respiratory passages, decreasing swelling and irritation.

Together, these components work synergistically to improve lung function, reduce asthma exacerbations, and provide better symptomatic control.

Usage Instructions:

Difizma Capsule is intended for inhalation use only. The capsule's contents should be inhaled using a compatible inhalation device, such as the Lupihaler. It's essential to follow your doctor's instructions regarding the correct usage technique to ensure optimal drug delivery to the lungs.

Common Side Effects:

  • Exacerbation of asthma

  • Nasopharyngitis (inflammation of the throat and nasal passages)

  • Upper respiratory tract infection

  • Headache

  • Stomach pain

  • Vomiting

  • Rash

To minimize the risk of certain side effects, such as oral thrush, it's advisable to rinse your mouth or gargle with water after each inhalation.

Precautions:

  • Not for Acute Symptoms: Difizma Capsule is not intended for the relief of sudden asthma attacks. Always have a fast-acting (rescue) inhaler available for acute symptoms.

  • Medical Consultation: Inform your doctor about any other medical conditions, ongoing medications, or allergies before starting this treatment.

  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Consult your healthcare provider before using this medication if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

Storage:

Store the capsules below 25°C, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep them out of reach of children.
