ETHASYL 500MG TABLET contains etamsylate, which belongs to the group of medicines called antihemorrhagic drugs. It helps to reduce bleeding and control blood loss. It is used before, during and after a delicate surgical procedure involving the urinary system, eyes, nose, throat, etc. to manage bleeding. It is also used to manage conditions such as blood in the urine, blood vomit, bleeding from the nose, blood in the stools, bleeding from the gums, etc.

In females, ETHASYL 500MG TABLET is used to manage spotting (bleeding between menstrual periods) and excessive or prolonged bleeding during menstruation (with or without an intrauterine device) in the absence of any organ defects.

Before starting with ETHASYL 500MG TABLET, your doctor might want to do a few tests to verify the cause of the bleeding. If you are a woman suffering from excessive menstrual bleeding, your doctor will do a thorough gynaecological check-up before therapy.

ETHASYL 500MG TABLET is not recommended to take if you are allergic to etamsylate or sulfites, have bronchial asthma or are suffering from porphyria (a blood disorder where the formation of haemoglobin is not proper). Before taking ETHASYL 500MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are suffering from any kidney, liver or heart diseases to avoid unwanted side effects.

ETHASYL 500MG TABLET is not recommended for use by pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers or children. The most common side effects of taking ETHASYL 500MG TABLET are nausea, vomiting, headache, stomach pain, tiredness, body rashes, loose motions, etc. Consult your doctor if any of the symptoms are worsening.
