Fusidic Acid 2% w/w

THERAPEUTIC CATEGORY
Topical Antibiotic

INDICATIONS
Used for the treatment of bacterial skin infections.
Effective in conditions such as:
Impetigo
Infected dermatitis
Infected cuts and wounds
Folliculitis
Boils

MECHANISM OF ACTION
Fusidic Acid works by stopping the growth of bacteria.
It inhibits bacterial protein synthesis, helping clear the infection.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Apply a thin layer to the affected area as prescribed by the doctor.
Usually applied 2–3 times daily.
Clean and dry the affected area before application.
Wash hands before and after use.

DURATION OF TREATMENT
Use for the full duration prescribed by the doctor, even if symptoms improve earlier.

Mild burning sensation
Itching
Redness
Skin irritation

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS (Seek medical attention)
Severe allergic reaction
Swelling of face or lips

PRECAUTIONS
For external use only.
Avoid contact with eyes, nose, and mouth.
Do not apply on large body areas unless prescribed.
Do not cover with airtight dressing unless advised by a doctor.
Inform the doctor if infection does not improve within a few days.

Pregnancy: Use only if prescribed.
Breastfeeding: Avoid application on breast area before feeding.
