GLUCOBAY M 50MG TABLET is a combination of Acarbose and Metformin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidiabetic agents. It is used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients who have not sufficiently responded to either diet and exercise alone or after a combination of diet and exercise with other single oral antidiabetic medicines.

Type 2 diabetes is a chronic medical condition in which the body does not make enough insulin, or the insulin that is produced does not work well. The symptoms include excessive urination, excessive thirst, hunger, fatigue, and blurred vision.

GLUCOBAY M 50MG TABLET is not recommended for patients with ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease, severe liver disorders, kidney diseases, hernias, intestinal diseases, gastric diseases, Type-1 diabetes, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, weight loss, dehydration, severe infections in the lungs or kidney, acute or chronic metabolic acidosis, diabetic ketoacidosis, acute heart failure, or heart attack. Inform your doctor before any x-ray or scanning and if there are any pre-planned surgeries.

GLUCOBAY M 50MG TABLET is not recommended for use by pregnant or breastfeeding women and in children less than 16 years of age. The common side effects of GLUCOBAY M 50MG TABLET are flatulence, diarrhoea, stomach pain, nausea, upset stomach, vomiting, loss of appetite, and changes in taste. The most common serious side effect of GLUCOBAY M 50MG TABLET is an accumulation of lactic acid in the blood (lactic acidosis). Consult your doctor if any of your symptoms get worse or persist.
