Goldcal D3 Capsule contains Cholecalciferol, a form of vitamin D, essential for maintaining overall health. It is primarily used to address vitamin D deficiency and manage certain bone conditions like osteoporosis (thinning of the bone), often alongside other treatments.
A deficiency in vitamin D can occur if your diet or lifestyle doesn't provide sufficient amounts, or when your body requires more, such as during pregnancy. To support the effects of Goldcal D3 Capsule, your doctor may recommend consuming calcium-rich foods and beverages. Blood tests might be conducted before starting treatment to assess your current vitamin D levels and overall health.
Do not take Goldcal D3 Capsule if you have high levels of calcium in your blood (hypercalcaemia) or urine (hypercalciuria), or if you suffer from liver problems, kidney failure, kidney stones, or have a history of forming kidney stones. It is also not recommended if you have very high levels of vitamin D in your blood (hypervitaminosis).
Before starting Goldcal D3 Capsule, inform your doctor if you have any heart disease, narrowing of the arteries, or sarcoidosis (a chronic inflammatory condition affecting various organs like lungs, heart, and kidneys). Also, mention if you are taking any other medicines or foods containing vitamin D.
Pregnant and breastfeeding women should use Goldcal D3 Capsule with caution, as excessive vitamin D intake can be harmful to the baby. This medicine is generally suitable for children and adolescents aged 12 and above. Always consult your doctor if you experience any unusual side effects while taking this medicine.

Directions of Use
Take Goldcal D3 Capsule exactly as directed by your physician. Your doctor will determine the correct dose and duration of treatment based on your age, body weight, and medical condition.
For Capsules: Swallow Goldcal D3 Capsule whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the capsule.
Side effects
Like all medicines, Goldcal D3 Capsule can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The most common side effects are related to increased calcium levels in the body:
- Increased calcium in the blood (hypercalcaemia): Signs may include nausea or vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, stomach ache, feeling very thirsty, muscle weakness, drowsiness, or confusion.
- Increased calcium in the urine (hypercalciuria): This can sometimes lead to kidney stones.
If you experience any of these severe side effects, especially symptoms of hypercalcaemia, contact your doctor immediately. Always consult your doctor if you notice any other unusual or persistent side effects.
