HALOTOP S OINTMENT is a combination of Halobetasol and Salicylic acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Corticosteroids and Keratolytic agents respectively. It is used to manage eczema, psoriasis. This medicine is also used to manage dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis and inflammatory dermatoses.
Eczema is a skin inflammatory disorder characterized by red and itchy rashes. The utmost common cause of eczema is allergies. Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease of the skin that is characterized by red, itchy, and scaly rashes.
HALOTOP S OINTMENT should not be used on the face, groin, or in axillae. HALOTOP S OINTMENT is not recommended to use in patients who have rosacea or perioral dermatitis.
HALOTOP S OINTMENT should be used with caution among pregnant and breastfeeding women. HALOTOP S OINTMENT is not recommended to use in children and adolescents under 12 years of age and it should be used with caution in elderly patients.
The most common side effect of this medicine is thinning of skin, dry skin, and application site reactions (burning, irritation, itching, and redness). Consult your doctor if the above side effects worsen. Avoid applying this medicine around your eyes, including your eyelids.

Apply HALOTOP S OINTMENT as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Apply a thin layer of HALOTOP S OINTMENT to the affected area. Managed areas on the face should not be covered with a plaster or bandage. Your doctor will decide the right dose, and duration depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
