What it is:
Iropen-S Injection is an iron replacement medicine used to treat iron deficiency anemia, especially in patients who cannot tolerate oral iron or have not responded to it. It helps in restoring iron levels and improving hemoglobin production in the blood.

Uses:

• Treatment of iron deficiency anemia

• Commonly used in chronic kidney disease patients (with or without dialysis)

• Given when oral iron is not effective or not tolerated

• Also used in pregnancy-related anemia (if advised by doctor)

How it is Given:

• Administered by a doctor or nurse only

• Given through intravenous (IV) infusion or slow IV injection

• Dosage depends on your hemoglobin level and body iron requirements

• Not for self-injection or home use

Common Side Effects:

• Pain or swelling at injection site

• Headache

• Low blood pressure

• Dizziness

• Nausea or vomiting

• Muscle cramps or joint pain

Precautions:

• Inform doctor if you have a history of iron overload disorders

• Tell your doctor if you have liver problems, infections, or allergies

• Use only under medical supervision in pregnancy or breastfeeding

• Avoid taking oral iron supplements at the same time unless prescribed

• Monitor iron levels regularly during treatment

• Store below 25°C in a dry place

• Keep out of reach of children
