Istamet G - IR Tab 50/1000 10S

Composition:

• Sitagliptin (50 mg) œ A DPP-4 inhibitor that enhances insulin secretion.
• Metformin (1000 mg, IR œ Immediate Release) œ A biguanide that reduces glucose production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity.

Indication:

• Used for the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus when diet and exercise alone are insufficient to control blood sugar levels.

Dosage:

• Typically taken once or twice daily with meals, as directed by a doctor.

Side Effects:

• Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
• Headache
• Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar, especially when combined with other antidiabetic drugs)
• Rare: Lactic acidosis (a serious complication associated with Metformin)

Precautions:

• Not suitable for patients with severe kidney or liver disease.
• Avoid alcohol to reduce the risk of lactic acidosis.
• Regular blood sugar monitoring is necessary.
