Kenacort 0.1% Cream contains Triamcinolone 0.1%, a corticosteroid medication. It is primarily used to manage and relieve itching and inflammatory conditions associated with various corticosteroid-responsive skin diseases. This includes conditions like seborrheic otitis externa (an ear infection), different types of dermatitis (skin inflammation), such as allergic contact dermatitis (an itchy skin rash due to allergies) and winter dermatitis, eczema (a dry, itchy, inflamed skin condition), psoriasis (a skin disorder characterized by raised, rough, reddened areas with dry, silvery scales), and diaper rash.
Before you start using Kenacort 0.1% Cream, it's important to inform your doctor if you have any pre-existing medical conditions like Cushing's syndrome (which involves an overproduction of corticosteroid hormones), hyperglycemia (high blood sugar levels), glucosuria (glucose in the urine), or increased pressure in the brain.
Using Kenacort 0.1% Cream during pregnancy should only be considered if absolutely necessary and under medical guidance. If you are breastfeeding, caution is advised as it is not known whether the active ingredient, Triamcinolone 0.1%, passes into breast milk. This cream should also be used with caution in children. Always contact your doctor if you experience any side effects that worsen or persist.

To use Kenacort 0.1% Cream, always follow the instructions provided by your physician. This medication is for external use on the skin only. Before applying, ensure you wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Apply a thin layer of the cream to the affected skin area and gently rub it in. Additionally, do not cover the treated area with a bandage or any other occlusive dressing unless specifically advised by your doctor, as this can increase the absorption of the medicine.
