Korandil 5mg Tablet contains Nicorandil 5mg, a medication belonging to the group known as potassium channel activators. It is prescribed for adults to manage and reduce the painful symptoms of angina pectoris, especially for those who cannot use other common heart medicines like beta-blockers or calcium antagonists.

Angina pectoris is a temporary chest pain or discomfort caused by reduced blood flow to the heart muscle. While not typically a heart attack itself, it signals an increased risk. Symptoms often include a squeezing pressure, heaviness, tightness, or pain in the chest, which can appear suddenly or recur over time.

It is important to avoid alcohol while taking Korandil 5mg Tablet, as it can further lower your blood pressure.

Korandil 5mg Tablet is not suitable for patients with severely low blood pressure, low blood volume, or certain serious heart conditions (such as cardiogenic shock, left ventricular failure with low filling pressure, or cardiac decompensation).

Before starting Korandil 5mg Tablet, inform your doctor if you have any lung conditions like pulmonary oedema (fluid in the lungs), liver problems, or kidney issues.

This medicine is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women, or for children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Always consult your doctor before taking this medication.

Common side effects of Korandil 5mg Tablet include headache, dizziness, skin flushing, nausea, vomiting, weakness, and a rapid or forceful heartbeat. If any of these symptoms become bothersome or worsen, please consult your doctor.
