Linares-E Tablet is an oral medication prescribed to manage Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults. It combines two active ingredients: Empagliflozin (25 mg) and Linagliptin (5 mg), each serving a distinct role in blood sugar regulation.
Composition and Mechanism:
- Empagliflozin (25 mg): This Sodium-Glucose Co-Transporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor works by preventing glucose reabsorption in the kidneys, leading to its excretion through urine, thereby lowering blood sugar levels.
- Linagliptin (5 mg): As a Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, it enhances the levels of incretin hormones, which increase insulin release and decrease glucagon levels in the bloodstream, contributing to better blood sugar control.
Uses:
Linares-E Tablet is primarily used as part of a comprehensive regimen to manage Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults.
Dosage and Administration:
- Dosage: As prescribed by your healthcare provider.
- Administration: Take one tablet orally once daily, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not chew or crush it.
Possible Side Effects:
Common side effects may include:
- Hypoglycemia (Low Blood Sugar): Symptoms such as shakiness, sweating, confusion, dizziness, and hunger.

- Urinary Tract Infections: Characterized by a burning sensation during urination or increased frequency.
- Upper Respiratory Tract Infections: Symptoms may include a stuffy or runny nose, sore throat, or cough.
