Linares-E Tablet is an oral medication prescribed to manage Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults. It combines two active ingredients: Empagliflozin (25 mg) and Linagliptin (5 mg), each serving a distinct role in blood sugar regulation.

Composition and Mechanism:

  • Empagliflozin (25 mg): This Sodium-Glucose Co-Transporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor works by preventing glucose reabsorption in the kidneys, leading to its excretion through urine, thereby lowering blood sugar levels.
  • Linagliptin (5 mg): As a Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, it enhances the levels of incretin hormones, which increase insulin release and decrease glucagon levels in the bloodstream, contributing to better blood sugar control.

Uses:

Linares-E Tablet is primarily used as part of a comprehensive regimen to manage Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults.

Dosage and Administration:

  • Dosage: As prescribed by your healthcare provider.
  • Administration: Take one tablet orally once daily, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not chew or crush it.

Possible Side Effects:

Common side effects may include:

  • Hypoglycemia (Low Blood Sugar): Symptoms such as shakiness, sweating, confusion, dizziness, and hunger.
  • Increased Thirst and Urination: Due to the glucose-excreting action of empagliflozin.
  • Genital Yeast Infections: More common in individuals with high blood sugar levels.
  • Urinary Tract Infections: Characterized by a burning sensation during urination or increased frequency.
  • Upper Respiratory Tract Infections: Symptoms may include a stuffy or runny nose, sore throat, or cough.

If any of these side effects persist or worsen, consult your healthcare provider.

Precautions:

  • Allergies: Avoid use if allergic to empagliflozin, linagliptin, or any other components of the tablet.
  • Medical Conditions: Inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver issues, heart conditions, or a history of pancreatitis.
  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Consult your doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • Alcohol: Limit alcohol consumption, as it may affect blood sugar levels and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.

Storage Instructions:

  • Environment: Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Safety: Keep out of reach of children.
