Contains: Lumefantrine + Artemether

What it is:
A combination antimalarial medicine used to treat uncomplicated Plasmodium falciparum malaria. It kills the malaria parasite in different stages of its lifecycle.

Uses:

• Treatment of uncomplicated malaria

• Effective against drug-resistant strains of malaria

• Often used where artemisinin resistance is a concern

How to Use:

• Taken under medical supervision

• Administered in a six-dose regimen over three days

• Usually taken twice a day with fatty food or milk to aid absorption

• Complete all doses even if symptoms improve early

Common Side Effects:

• Fever reduction and chills quickly post-treatment

• Mild nausea or vomiting

• Joint or muscle pain

• Headache

• Rarely, prolonged heart rhythm (QT interval)

Precautions:

• Not for prevention—only for treatment of active malaria

• Avoid in patients with known heart rhythm abnormalities

• Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease

• Interacts with certain other medications—always inform your doctor about all medicines you take

• Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless prescribed

• Do not drink alcohol during treatment
