Lyvelsa 10mg Tablet contains Finerenone 10mg, which belongs to a class of medicines known as non-steroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists. It is used for the management of chronic kidney disease (stages 3 and 4 with abnormal presence of albumin, a type of protein, in the urine) associated with type 2 diabetes in adults.

Finerenone 10mg in Lyvelsa 10mg Tablet works by blocking the action of specific hormones in the body that can potentially harm your kidneys and heart. During your management with Lyvelsa 10mg Tablet, your doctor will regularly monitor your kidney function and blood potassium levels to ensure the medicine is working safely and effectively for you.

Always take Lyvelsa 10mg Tablet exactly as directed by your physician. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush or chew it. It can be taken with or without meals.

Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while taking Lyvelsa 10mg Tablet, as this can increase the risk of side effects. Before starting Lyvelsa 10mg Tablet, inform your doctor if you have high blood potassium levels. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Finerenone or have Addison's disease.

Lyvelsa 10mg Tablet is generally not recommended for use in pregnant women unless your doctor determines it is absolutely necessary. Women who can become pregnant must use a reliable method of contraception to prevent pregnancy while taking this medicine. Do not take Lyvelsa 10mg Tablet if you are breastfeeding, as it may pass into breast milk and could harm the nursing infant.

Avoid taking Lyvelsa 10mg Tablet with certain antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral agents, as well as potassium supplements, some antidepressants, and specific blood pressure-lowering agents. Always inform your doctor about all medicines you are currently taking. The most common side effects of taking Lyvelsa 10mg Tablet are elevated blood potassium, sodium, and uric acid levels, and low blood pressure. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects bother you.
