MECOFOL OD TABLET contains Methylcobalamin, which belongs to the group of medicines called Vitamins. MECOFOL OD TABLET is used to manage peripheral neuropathies (peripheral nerve damage that affects hands, feet, and arms) and megaloblastic anaemia (blood disorder that occurs due to abnormal production of red blood cells) caused by vitamin B12 deficiency in affected individuals.

MECOFOL OD TABLET is not recommended for use in patients allergic to mecobalamin and/or other B12-containing medicines. It is also not recommended for use in patients with Leber's disease (an inherited form of vision loss).

Before taking MECOFOL OD TABLET, inform your doctor if you are in an occupation of handling mercury and/or have kidney problems (such as renal failure) or liver problems (such as hepatic impairment).

MECOFOL OD TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. It should be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged 6 months to 18 years) and is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years and above) after consulting the doctor.

The most common side effects of taking MECOFOL OD TABLET are weakness, headache, back pain, muscle pain, indigestion, nausea, and/or vomiting. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects worsen.


Uses:

  1. Manage peripheral neuropathies
  2. Manage megaloblastic anaemia (caused by vitamin B12 deficiency) in affected individuals

Directions of Use

Tablet:

Take MECOFOL OD TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight, and disease condition.

Oral Disintegrating Tablet:

Take MECOFOL OD TABLET as advised by your physician. Place MECOFOL OD TABLET inside your mouth and allow it to dissolve completely. Do not swallow or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight, and disease condition.

Sublingual Tablet:

Take MECOFOL OD TABLET as advised by your physician. Place MECOFOL OD TABLET under the tongue till it dissolves. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight, and disease condition.
