MEGANEURON NT 50MG TABLET, containing Pregabalin 50mg+Nortriptyline 10mg, is a combination medicine used for the management of neuropathic pain. This medication combines a tricyclic antidepressant (Nortriptyline) and an anticonvulsant (Pregabalin). Neuropathic pain is a chronic pain condition resulting from damage or disease affecting the somatosensory (sense of touch) nervous system.

This type of pain can be caused by injury or disease of the spinal cord and/or brain, prolonged diabetes mellitus (e.g., diabetic neuropathy), infectious diseases (such as HIV infection or leprosy), chemotherapy, autoimmune diseases (e.g., Guillain-Barré syndrome), post-herpetic neuralgia (a long-lasting painful condition affecting areas where shingles were present), fibromyalgia (generalized musculoskeletal pain with fatigue and altered sleep, memory, and mood), or other metabolic dysfunctions.

Symptoms of neuropathic pain include shooting, burning, or stabbing pain from normal daily activities that are typically not painful, tingling and numbness, or spontaneous pain (pain without an obvious stimulus).

It is important to continue taking MEGANEURON NT 50MG TABLET as long as your doctor advises, because stopping prematurely can lead to withdrawal symptoms like insomnia, headache, nausea, anxiety, diarrhea, depression, convulsions, and excessive sweating.

Taking MEGANEURON NT 50MG TABLET can increase the risk of suicidal thoughts and behavior in some individuals. Therefore, patients (or their caregivers) should seek immediate medical advice if any such signs emerge.

MEGANEURON NT 50MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe heart or kidney disease. Always consult your doctor before taking this medicine. It is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless specifically advised by a doctor, and it is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women.

MEGANEURON NT 50MG TABLET is strictly not recommended for use in children aged below 6 years and should be taken with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years or above).

The most common side effects of taking MEGANEURON NT 50MG TABLET are nausea, vomiting, constipation, dizziness, headache, flatulence, and dry mouth. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects worsen.
