Important Precautions for Megatin DC Capsule
Do not take Megatin DC Capsule if you are allergic to doxycycline, tinidazole, or other tetracyclines/nitroimidazoles.
It is crucial to avoid alcohol completely during treatment with Megatin DC Capsule and for at least 3 days after stopping it, as it can cause severe reactions with tinidazole.
Megatin DC Capsule is generally not recommended during pregnancy (especially 2nd/3rd trimester) and for children under 8 years, as it may cause permanent teeth discoloration and affect bone growth.
Use Megatin DC Capsule with caution if you have liver disease, kidney disease, epilepsy, or certain blood disorders.
Megatin DC Capsule may reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives. It is advisable to use additional methods of contraception during treatment.
Storage of Megatin DC Capsule
Store Megatin DC Capsule below 2530 °C, in a cool, dry place.

- Bacterial infections: Including those affecting the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, and ear, nose, and throat (ENT) regions.
- Anaerobic infections: Such as dental infections, intra-abdominal infections, and pelvic infections.
- Sexually transmitted infections (STIs): Effective against common STIs like chlamydia and gonorrhea.
- Parasitic & protozoal infections: This includes conditions like amoebiasis, giardiasis, and trichomoniasis.
- Mixed infections: It is also prescribed in situations where both bacteria and protozoa are suspected to be causing the infection.
Directions of Use
How to Use Megatin DC Capsule:
- Take Megatin DC Capsule exactly as directed by your doctor.
- The usual dose and duration of treatment will depend on the type and severity of your infection.
- Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break it.
- It is generally recommended to take Megatin DC Capsule with food to help prevent stomach upset.
- Do not skip any doses and complete the full course of treatment, even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine early can lead to the infection returning and becoming harder to treat.
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.

Nausea, vomiting, metallic taste in the mouth

Headache, dizziness
Increased sensitivity to sunlight (photosensitivity) due to Doxycycline. Use sun protection when outdoors.
Rare but serious side effects can include severe allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing) or changes in liver enzymes. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience these.
