MELGAIN contains Decapeptide which is used to manage vitiligo. It helps to restore the color to dipigmented or white areas of skin. Vitiligo is a skin disorder characterized by hyperpigmentation (excessive lightening or whitening of the skin) with uneven white patches appear on the skin leaving a clearly noticeable uneven colour. This is due to the malfunctioning of the cells in the epidermis of the skin that are responsible for producing melanin (melanocytes).

This medicine works by causing migration of melanin producing cells from the area of skin surrounding the vitiligo patch. This causes the production of melanin and thus restores the skin colour. This medicine is for external use only. MELGAIN can make your skin more sensitive to sun, hence use sunscreen lotions and protective clothing while going in sun. The common side effects are dry skin, skin irritation or burning sensation. Before using this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any medical conditions, pregnant or breastfeeding.
