Methycobal Tablet 500mcg contains Methylcobalamin, a form of vitamin B12. This medicine is primarily used to manage peripheral neuropathies (nerve damage affecting the hands, feet, and arms) and megaloblastic anaemia (a blood disorder characterized by abnormally large red blood cells) that are caused by a vitamin B12 deficiency. It helps in protecting nerve fibers and improving red blood cell production in affected individuals.

Methycobal Tablet 500mcg is not recommended for use in patients who are allergic to mecobalamin or other vitamin B12-containing medicines. It should also be avoided by individuals with Leber's disease, an inherited form of vision loss.

Before you start taking Methycobal Tablet 500mcg, it's important to inform your doctor if you work with mercury or have any existing kidney problems (like renal failure) or liver problems (such as hepatic impairment).

This medicine is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It should be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged 6 months to 18 years) and in elderly patients (aged 65 years and above), always under a doctor's supervision.
