Monit SR 30mg Tablet contains Isosorbide Mononitrate 30mg, a medicine known as a nitrate vasodilator. It is primarily used to manage and prevent chronic angina pectoris, commonly known as chest pain. This medicine is not intended for use during sudden or acute angina attacks. Angina pectoris is characterized by a sudden, severe pain in the chest, often radiating to the left shoulder, creating a feeling of pressure or suffocation behind the breastbone.

Before you start taking Monit SR 30mg Tablet, it's important to inform your doctor about your medical history. This medicine is generally not recommended for individuals with certain severe heart conditions like very low blood pressure, low blood volume, thickened heart muscle (cardiomyopathy), or those in shock. It's also advised against for patients with specific lung diseases that cause very low oxygen levels (hypoxemia). If you have a history of liver or kidney disease, glaucoma, thyroid issues, or low body temperature, please discuss this with your doctor.

For better management of angina pectoris, your doctor might suggest combining Monit SR 30mg Tablet with lifestyle adjustments such as a balanced diet low in fat, salt, and sugar, along with regular mild exercise. This medication is not recommended for children. Elderly patients should use Monit SR 30mg Tablet with caution, and dosage adjustments may be necessary under medical supervision.

If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking Monit SR 30mg Tablet. Common side effects may include headache, tiredness, dizziness, nausea, a drop in blood pressure (hypotension), and rapid heartbeat (palpitations). Should any of these side effects become bothersome or worsen, contact your doctor for advice.
