Movicol Paediatric Powder is a laxative used to manage chronic constipation in children between the age of 1 to 11 years, as well as severe constipation (also known as faecal impaction) in children between the age of 5 to 11 years.

It contains Macrogol 3350, sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, and potassium chloride as active ingredients that help your child to have a comfortable bowel movement.

Macrogol 3350 exerts an osmotic effect which causes water to be retained in the colon and produces a watery stool. Electrolytes like sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate and potassium chloride help manage dehydration and other serious side effects that may occur due to fluid loss as the colon is emptied.

Do not use Movicol Paediatric Powder if your child has a blockage in their gut, a perforated gut wall, or severe inflammatory bowel disease (Ex. ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, toxic megacolon). Inform your doctor if your child has a heart or kidney problem, or heart-burn caused by back-flow of stomach contents into the food pipe.
