Cefepime 1000 mg

Type:
Antibiotic (4th generation cephalosporin)

Uses:

• Serious bacterial infections like:
  • Lung infection (pneumonia)
  • Urinary tract infection (UTI)
  • Skin and soft tissue infections
  • Abdominal infections
  • Blood infections (sepsis)

How to Use:

• Given by doctor or nurse only
• Injected into vein (IV) or muscle (IM)
• Usually given every 8 to 12 hours
• Dosage depends on infection and kidney function

Common Side Effects:

• Pain or swelling at injection site
• Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
• Skin rash
• Headache

Precautions:

• Inform doctor if allergic to penicillin or cephalosporins
• Caution in kidney problems—dose may need change
• Not to be self-injected
• Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only if advised by doctor

Storage:

• Store as per label or hospital guidelines
• Keep out of reach of children
