Neosporin Eye Oint 10g is a powerful combination antibiotic ointment containing Bacitracin, Neomycin, and Polymyxin B. It is primarily used to treat and prevent bacterial infections of the eye and superficial skin infections.
For eye infections, Neosporin Eye Oint 10g is effective against conditions such as conjunctivitis (pink eye), keratitis, infected corneal ulcers, ulcerative blepharitis, and chronic dacryocystitis. It is also used before and after eye surgeries or procedures like foreign body removal to prevent infection.
For skin infections, this ointment helps manage infected ulcers, accidental cuts, scratches, abrasions, and minor burns. It is also useful for superficial skin infections that may occur after surgical procedures and conditions like impetigo.
To use, apply a thin layer of Neosporin Eye Oint 10g to the affected area after ensuring it is clean and free of debris, pus, or crusts. Do not use this ointment for more than seven days unless specifically advised by a doctor. Neosporin Eye Oint 10g is not recommended if you are allergic to any of its antibiotic components or have nerve deafness. It should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease.
