Nexup D3 Capsule contains Cholecalciferol, a crucial form of Vitamin D3. It is primarily used to address and prevent vitamin D deficiency, as well as manage bone health issues such as osteoporosis (thinning of the bone). This medication may be prescribed by your doctor to be taken with other medicines for comprehensive treatment.

A deficiency in Vitamin D3 can occur due to insufficient dietary intake, limited sunlight exposure, or increased bodily needs (for instance, during pregnancy or certain medical conditions). Your doctor may recommend blood tests to assess your vitamin D levels before and during treatment with Nexup D3 Capsule. Additionally, you might be advised to consume calcium-rich foods or drinks.

Do not take Nexup D3 Capsule if you have very high calcium levels in your blood (hypercalcaemia) or urine (hypercalciuria), severe liver or kidney problems, a history of kidney stones or a tendency to form them, or excessively high vitamin D levels in your blood (hypervitaminosis D).

Before starting Nexup D3 Capsule, it is important to inform your doctor if you have any heart conditions, narrowing of the arteries, sarcoidosis (a chronic inflammatory condition affecting various organs), or if you are currently taking other medicines or supplements that contain vitamin D. Use Nexup D3 Capsule with caution if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as too much vitamin D can potentially harm your baby. This medicine is generally suitable for children and adolescents aged 12 years and older. Always consult your doctor if you experience any unexpected or concerning side effects during your treatment with Nexup D3 Capsule.

Uses:

  1. Helps to correct and prevent vitamin D deficiency.
  2. Assists in the management of osteoporosis (thinning of the bone) and other related bone health conditions, often in conjunction with other treatments.
  3. Supports overall bone health by promoting calcium absorption in the body, thanks to the active ingredient Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) in Nexup D3 Capsule.

Directions of Use

Take Nexup D3 Capsule precisely as directed by your physician. Your doctor will determine the correct dose and duration for you, considering your age, body weight, and the specific condition being treated (e.g., vitamin D deficiency or osteoporosis).

For Capsules and Softgels: Swallow Nexup D3 Capsule whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or open the capsule.

Side effects

While generally well-tolerated when taken as prescribed, Nexup D3 Capsule (Cholecalciferol) can sometimes lead to side effects, particularly if the dosage is too high or if taken for prolonged periods without medical supervision. The most common adverse effects are related to elevated calcium levels in the body.

Potential side effects may include:

  • Increased calcium levels in the blood (hypercalcaemia), which might cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, stomach ache, feeling excessively thirsty, muscle weakness, drowsiness, or confusion.
  • Increased calcium levels in the urine (hypercalciuria).

If you experience any of these symptoms, especially those indicative of hypercalcaemia, stop taking Nexup D3 Capsule and consult your doctor immediately. Do not exceed the prescribed dose to mitigate the risk of serious side effects.
