Niftas 100mg Tablet, containing Nitrofurantoin 100mg, is an antibiotic medicine used to treat and prevent urinary tract infections (UTIs). These infections can affect any part of your urinary system, including the bladder, kidneys, ureters, and urethra. Common symptoms of a UTI include a strong and persistent urge to urinate, a burning sensation during urination, cloudy or bloody urine, and pelvic pain, particularly in women.

Before starting Niftas 100mg Tablet, your doctor may conduct regular tests to monitor your lung and liver function. Please note that this medicine may interfere with urine tests for sugar, potentially leading to a false positive result. Caution is advised when taking Niftas 100mg Tablet if you have existing lung or liver conditions, anaemia, diabetes, severe weakness, electrolyte imbalance, or vitamin B deficiency. It is not recommended for patients with severe kidney disease.

Niftas 100mg Tablet is generally not recommended for pregnant women during labour or delivery due to potential harm to the baby. Breastfeeding women should use it with caution. This medicine should not be given to infants under 3 months of age. Elderly patients should use Niftas 100mg Tablet with care.
