NOVASTAT ASP 20 CAPSULE is combination medicine (Aspirin+Rosuvastatin) used in the management of high lipid levels (dyslipidemia) and helps reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, atherosclerosis (fatty deposits in blood vessels), and peripheral vascular disease (blockage in blood vessels outside the heart). It works by lowering "bad" cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides (fats) in the blood and reducing the risk of blood clot formation.

Take NOVASTAT ASP 20 CAPSULE with food to minimize stomach upset. Follow your doctor's prescribed schedule and take it at evenly spaced intervals to ensure its effectiveness. Consistently taking it at the same time each day can help you remember your dose. The dosage and duration depend on your specific condition. Even if you feel better, complete the full course of treatment as directed. Adopting a healthy lifestyle, including a low-fat diet, regular exercise, and avoiding smoking, can enhance the effectiveness of this medicine.

Before taking NOVASTAT ASP 20 CAPSULE inform your doctor if you have any kidney or heart problems.  You must also inform your doctor if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, family history of muscle disorders or if you are scheduled for any upcoming surgery.

If you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding, discuss this with your doctor. Additionally, let your healthcare provider know about all the medicines you are taking, as some may interact with NOVASTAT ASP 20 CAPSULE.

NOVASTAT ASP 20 CAPSULE may increase your blood sugar levels. Therefore, your doctor will constantly monitor your blood sugar levels while undergoing therapy with NOVASTAT ASP 20 CAPSULE as a precaution. It may also make you bleed more easily even after minor cuts or injuries, and so be cautions while you perform even minor activities that involves risk of cuts or injuries (like shaving, playing, or handling sharp objects).

The most common side effects of taking NOVASTAT ASP 20 CAPSULE are indigestion, constipation, muscle pain, increased bleeding tendency stomach pain, headache and nausea. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect worsens.

You must also inform your doctor if you experience stomach pain, dark urine or severe muscle pain or cramps especially if accompanied with fever and malaise after taking NOVASTAT ASP 20 CAPSULE.

Directions of Use

NOVASTAT ASP 20 CAPSULE contains two medicines namely, aspirin and Rosuvastatin. Aspirin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with antiplatelet effects. It manages the clumping of platelets (a type of blood cells that causes blood clot) in the blood vessels and improves blood flow in the body.

Rosuvastatin is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor. It reduces the levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides in the body. Collectively they act together to reduces clot or plaque formation in the blood vessels and improves blood flow to all parts of body.


Side effects

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it's near the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one. Even if you feel better, do not stop the medication unless advised by your doctor. Discontinuing it abruptly may reduce its effectiveness.

If you or anyone else accidentally took more NOVASTAT ASP 20 CAPSULE contact your doctor or visit the nearby hospital straight away. Symptoms of overdosage might include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, problems in hearing, ringing in the ears, headache, dizziness and confusion.
