It is used to manage gingivitis. It also maintains oral hygiene, inhibits formation of dental plague, manages recurrent oral ulceration, manages denture stomatitis and thrush.

Gingivitis is an inflammatory gum disease caused by bacteria which causes irritation, redness and swelling of the gums. Oral mucositis is a swelling of the tissues in the mouth.
