The Polaramine 2mg Tablet contains Dexchlorpheniramine 2mg, an antihistamine medication. It is primarily used to manage symptoms of perennial and seasonal allergic rhinitis, vasomotor rhinitis, and allergic conjunctivitis. It also helps with mild, uncomplicated allergic skin conditions like urticaria and angioedema (swelling beneath the skin).

Allergic rhinitis refers to a group of symptoms affecting the nose, caused by irritation and inflammation of the nasal lining. These symptoms, such as sneezing, itchiness, and a blocked or runny nose, typically occur when you are exposed to allergens like dust, pollen, or animal dander.

The Polaramine 2mg Tablet, with its active ingredient Dexchlorpheniramine 2mg, may also offer relief from itching associated with various skin conditions. These include allergic eczema, pruritus ani (anal itching), pruritus vulvae (vaginal itching), atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, insect bites, dermographism, and certain medication reactions (like serum sickness).

Before you start taking Polaramine 2mg Tablet, it is important to inform your doctor if you have any pre-existing conditions. These include liver, kidney, or heart disease, glaucoma (increased eye pressure), an enlarged prostate, hyperthyroidism, or a history of seizures.

If you are pregnant, the Polaramine 2mg Tablet should only be used if clearly necessary, and it is generally not recommended during the last three months of pregnancy. For breastfeeding women, caution is advised as the medicine passes into breast milk. Always consult with your doctor before using Polaramine 2mg Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

The Polaramine 2mg Tablet is not recommended for children under 2 years of age. It should be used with caution in elderly patients over 60 years old. Always seek your doctor's advice before administering Polaramine 2mg Tablet to children or if you are an elderly patient.

Common side effects associated with taking Polaramine 2mg Tablet include drowsiness, headache, blurred vision, and dry mouth. If any of these side effects worsen or do not improve, please consult your doctor.
