PREDMET 8 TABLET is used to manage various adrenal gland problems, including adrenal insufficiency, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, and nonsuppurative thyroiditis. It is also effective in managing autoimmune and inflammatory conditions affecting different parts of the body, such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, systemic lupus erythematosus, psoriasis, optic neuritis, uveitis, asthma, and certain blood disorders like leukemia. Additionally, it helps manage inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, as well as tuberculous meningitis in the brain.

This medication is also prescribed for managing severe allergic reactions, including drug-induced hypersensitivity, atopic dermatitis, allergic conjunctivitis, and allergic rhinitis. It can prevent graft rejection after organ transplantation and support kidney health by reducing protein loss in the urine or increasing urine output in conditions like nephrotic syndrome.

It contains a medicine called Methylprednisolone which belongs to the group of medicines called Corticosteroids.

Take PREDMET 8 TABLET as advised by your physician. Do not stop taking PREDMET 8 TABLET or reduce the dose of methylprednisolone without consulting your doctor as it may lead to unpleasant withdrawal symptoms, especially if you are taking higher dose of methylprednisolone.

Before taking PREDMET 8 TABLET inform your doctor if you any viral infections, or any liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have hypertension, diabetes, thyroid deficiency, glaucoma, skin problem, gut inflammation, muscle problems, osteoporosis, any types of tumors or cancer in the body, depression or any other forms of mental illness.

It should be used in pregnant or breastfeeding women only if it is considered necessary by the physician. Avoid drinking grapefruit juice or eating grapefruit while taking PREDMET 8 TABLET as it may lead to unwanted side effects.

The most common side effects of taking PREDMET 8 TABLET are high blood pressure, swelling of body parts, muscle cramps or weakness, skin thinning, feeling sad or depressed and slowed growth in children. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect worsens.

You must also inform your doctor if you experience severe depression with suicidal thoughts or severe stomach pain with blood-stained stools or vomit.
