RIFASET 100MG SUSPENSION is used in adults and in children (aged 2 years or above) to manage infectious diarrhea. It contains Rifaximin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics which works against the susceptible bacteria that causes infection by blocking the actions of certain enzymes in the bacteria that is required for its survival. As a result, it stops the growth and multiplication of the harmful bacteria in the gut and controls diarrhea.

Take RIFASET 100MG SUSPENSION for the stipulated duration instructed by your doctor even if you feel better during the midway of the therapy. Inform your doctor if you can't notice any improvement in your condition or if you feel worse after 3 days of therapy. It is not recommended for use in patients with bloody diarrhea or diarrhea accompanied by fever and in patients passing unformed (soft or liquid) stools for more than 8 times a day. It is also not suitable for use in patients having any stomach problems (such as constipation, vomiting, or stomach pain due to blockage in the gut).

Inform your doctor before taking RIFASET 100MG SUSPENSION if you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or breastfeeding women. This medicine may cause pink or reddish discoloration of urine. This usually disappears after discontinuation of the therapy. The most common side effects of taking headache, flatulence, stomach pain, constipation, urge to empty bowels and fever. Contact your doctor if any of these side effect worsens.
