SAFION 100 TABLET contains Safinamide which belongs to the group of medicines called Monoamine oxidase type B (MAO-B) inhibitors. SAFION 100 TABLET is used in the management of Parkinson's disease, which is an age-related degenerative brain condition that cause unintended/uncontrollable movements in adults.

SAFION 100 TABLET is also used to manage Parkinson's disease in mid-late-stage patients when used with Levodopa or in combination with other anti-Parkinson's disease. 

SAFION 100 TABLET is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Safinamide. It is also not recommended for use in patients suffering from eye condition (due to albinism, retinal degeneration, uveitis, inherited retinopathy), and/or severe liver problems.

Before taking SAFION 100 TABLET, inform your doctor if you have kidney problems (such as renal impairment), and/or other liver problems (such as mild to moderate hepatic impairment).

SAFION 100 TABLET is not recommended for use during pregnancy and in women planning for pregnancy. It is also not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass through breast milk.

SAFION 100 TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) and is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 75 years/above) after consulting the doctor.

The most common side effects of taking SAFION 100 TABLET are insomnia (sleeplessness), difficulty in performing voluntary movements, feeling sleepy/dizzy/falling, headache, clouding of eye lens, drop in blood pressure (while raising to a standing position), and/or nausea. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects worsens.
