SERENACE 0.5 TABLET contains Haloperidol which belongs to the group of medicines called Antipsychotics. It is used to manage mental health problems like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and behavioural problems which affects the person's ability to think, feel and behave normally.

SERENACE 0.5 TABLET is also used to manage Huntington's disease (degeneration of nerve cells in the brain) and Tourette's syndrome (disease involving unwanted sounds or repetitive movements).

Your doctor might want you to take several diagnostic tests before or during your management with SERENACE 0.5 TABLET such as ECG (electrocardiogram) or checking the levels of electrolytes such as magnesium or potassium in your blood.

SERENACE 0.5 TABLET is not recommended in patients having heart disease, Parkinson's disease, Lewy body dementia, progressive supranuclear palsy, or low potassium levels. Before taking SERENACE 0.5 TABLET, inform your doctor if you have kidney problems, liver problems, thyroid problems, blood disorders, depression, bleeding in the brain, prolactin-dependent tumors, or epilepsy.

SERENACE 0.5 TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant women only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the baby and is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Avoid consumption of alcohol during management with SERENACE 0.5 TABLET, as it may have additive side effects and lower the blood pressure.

SERENACE 0.5 TABLET is not recommended for use in children under 3 years of age and should be used with caution in elderly patients. The most common side effects of taking SERENACE 0.5 TABLET are feeling agitated, difficulty sleeping, headache, dizziness, sleepiness, nausea, vomiting or constipation. Contact your doctor if any of the above symptoms worsen or doesn't improve.
