Sizodon 2mg Tablet is prescribed for the treatment of mental health conditions such as schizophrenia and mania. Schizophrenia is a disorder that can affect a person's ability to think, feel, and behave clearly, often involving hallucinations or delusions. Mania refers to periods of abnormally elevated or irritable mood.

This medicine, containing Risperidone as its active component, can be taken with or without food, ideally at night. For consistent effectiveness, it's best to take Sizodon 2mg Tablet at the same time daily. Always follow your doctor's prescribed dose and duration. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. It's crucial not to stop taking Sizodon 2mg Tablet suddenly without consulting your doctor, as this could worsen your symptoms. However, if you experience Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome (NMS) – characterized by fever, severe muscle stiffness, altered mental state, or seizures – discontinue the medicine immediately and seek medical help.

Common side effects associated with Sizodon 2mg Tablet include difficulty sleeping (insomnia), feeling drowsy or sedated, vomiting, coughing, headache, and fever. Some individuals may also experience symptoms similar to Parkinson's disease. Initially, you might notice a sudden drop in blood pressure when changing positions; to counteract this, rise slowly from a sitting or lying position. This medicine can also cause dizziness and sleepiness, so avoid driving or activities requiring mental alertness until you understand how Sizodon 2mg Tablet affects you. Weight gain is a possible side effect; adopting a healthy diet and regular exercise can help manage this.

While using Sizodon 2mg Tablet, be aware that it may increase the risk of developing diabetes; regular blood glucose monitoring is recommended. Inform your doctor if you notice any unusual changes in mood or behavior, new or worsening depression, or suicidal thoughts during treatment with this medicine.
