Superia Dsr Capsule is a medication used to manage Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), especially in patients who have not responded adequately to rabeprazole alone. It is a combination medicine containing Domperidone 30mg+Rabeprazole 20mg, which belong to the groups of medicines called Dopamine Antagonists and Proton Pump Inhibitors, respectively. This combination can also be used to manage peptic ulcers caused by H. pylori infection or the use of NSAIDs.
While using Superia Dsr Capsule, it's beneficial to adopt certain lifestyle adjustments like eating less spicy foods and drinking plenty of water. Avoiding smoking or alcohol consumption is also advised as these may worsen your condition. Patients undergoing long-term management with this medicine should be regularly monitored for potential risks like hypomagnesaemia (low magnesium levels in the blood) and bone fracture, particularly in elderly patients and those with other known risk factors.
Before taking Superia Dsr Capsule, it's important to inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney, or heart problems. Your doctor may need to adjust the dose or suggest an alternative treatment. This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women, and in children under 18 years of age. It should be used with caution in elderly patients (above 65 years of age). The most common side effects include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, or constipation. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects become bothersome or worsen.
Uses:
- Management of Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
