Systaflam Gel 1% w/w is a topical pain-relieving gel designed to alleviate mild to moderate muscle and joint pains. It contains a combination of active ingredients including Diclofenac 1% w/w, which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) known for reducing pain and inflammation. Additionally, it contains Mephenesin 5% w/w, Menthol 2% w/w, Methyl Salicylate 5% w/w, and Turpentine Oil 3% w/w, which work together to provide a soothing and analgesic effect.
This topical gel is commonly used for managing conditions such as sprains, strains, bruises, backache, sports injuries, contusions, post-traumatic pain, tendonitis (like tennis elbow), and discomfort from osteoarthritis, particularly in the knees.
Always use Systaflam Gel 1% w/w exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Before application, inform your doctor if you have any existing kidney, liver, or heart conditions, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 14 years of age. Common side effects may include temporary skin redness, inflammation, or swelling at the application site. Do not apply this gel to broken, injured, or infected skin. In case of accidental contact with eyes or mucous membranes, rinse the affected area thoroughly with running water. Directions of Use
To use Systaflam Gel 1% w/w effectively and safely, please follow these instructions:
- Ensure the affected skin area is clean and dry before application.
- Wash your hands thoroughly before applying the gel.
- Squeeze a small amount of Systaflam Gel 1% w/w onto your fingertips.
- Apply a thin layer of the gel to the painful or swollen area.
- Gently rub the gel into the skin until it is fully absorbed.
- Do not use more than the recommended amount or apply more frequently than advised by your doctor. Typically, it is applied 3 to 4 times daily, but always follow your doctor's specific instructions.
- Wash your hands again immediately after applying the gel, unless your hands are the area being treated.
- Remember, this product is for external use only. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, nose, and any open wounds or irritated skin.
Side effects
Like all medicines, Systaflam Gel 1% w/w can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Most side effects are mild and localized to the area of application.
