Telrose Tablet is a combination medication containing Telmisartan (40 mg) and Rosuvastatin (10 mg), primarily used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) accompanied by high cholesterol levels (hyperlipidemia). By addressing both conditions, Telrose Tablet helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attacks and strokes.
Composition:
- Telmisartan (40 mg): An angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels, leading to lowered blood pressure.
- Rosuvastatin (10 mg): A statin that inhibits cholesterol production in the liver, thereby reducing "bad" LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while increasing "good" HDL cholesterol.
Uses:
- Hypertension with Hyperlipidemia: Effective in patients diagnosed with both high blood pressure and elevated cholesterol levels.
- Cardiovascular Risk Reduction: Helps lower the likelihood of heart attacks and strokes in individuals at high risk.
Dosage and Administration:
- Dosage: Follow your doctor's prescription regarding the appropriate dosage.
- Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day to maintain consistent blood levels.
Possible Side Effects:
- Common:
- Nausea
- Constipation
- Stomach pain
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Muscle pain
- Weakness
- Elevated blood sugar levels
- Increased liver enzymes
- Serious (Seek Medical Attention):
- Severe muscle pain or weakness
- Signs of liver problems (e.g., persistent nausea, yellowing of skin/eyes)
- Significant decrease in urine output
Precautions:
- Allergies: Inform your doctor of any known allergies to Telmisartan, Rosuvastatin, or other medications.
- Medical Conditions: Discuss any history of liver or kidney disease, diabetes, or alcohol use.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding; consult your doctor for alternatives.
- Alcohol Consumption: Limit alcohol intake, as it may increase the risk of liver damage and exacerbate side effects.
- Driving and Machinery: Be cautious when driving or operating machinery, as this medication may cause dizziness or drowsiness.
Storage:
- Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight.
- Keep out of reach of children.
Note: Telrose Tablet is a prescription medication. Do not discontinue use without consulting your healthcare provider, even if you feel well. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and liver function tests is advised to ensure the medication's effectiveness and detect any potential side effects.
