TEXID MF TABLET contains a combination of Mefenamic acid and Tranexamic acid, which belongs to the group of medicines called Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) and antifibrinolytics. It helps to stop/arrest bleeding and relieve pain and swelling from various parts of the body. It is used to manage, control and manage heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia) and menstrual pain, bleeding from the nose or eyes, following a tooth extraction, prostate surgery etc.

Tranexamic acid works by managing the breakdown of blood clots by blocking the interaction of plasminogen with fibrin. Mefenamic acid works by managing the release of a chemical messenger called prostaglandin by inhibiting an enzyme called cyclooxygenase that causes fever, pain and inflammation in the body (redness and swelling). Your doctor may suggest you take relevant medical tests to understand your existing condition.

TEXID MF TABLET is not recommended for use if you have severe kidney disease or failure, blood clots (thrombosis), abnormal body movements such as fits or seizures, an abnormal or excessive bleeding disorder (consumptive coagulopathy), etc. TEXID MF TABLET should be used with caution. Inform your doctor if you have blood in the urine, uncontrolled bleeding, blood clots throughout your body, irregular menstruation, mild to moderate kidney or liver disease, angioneurotic oedema (HANO), etc.

TEXID MF TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant women and nursing mothers and only if prescribed by a doctor. The most common side effects of TEXID MF TABLET are feeling sick, vomiting, having a headache, having an abnormal heartbeat, having changes in blood pressure, having difficulty urinating, having urine leaks, etc. Contact your doctor if the symptoms worsen.
