Tofakin ER 11 mg – 10’s

What it is:
Tofakin ER 11 mg is a prescription medicine containing tofacitinib (extended-release). It belongs to a class of medicines called Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors and is used to reduce inflammation and immune activity in certain autoimmune conditions.

Composition:
• Tofacitinib 11 mg (Extended Release) – Delayed-release form designed for once-daily dosing.

Uses:
It is prescribed for inflammatory and autoimmune conditions such as:
• Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) – To reduce pain, swelling, and joint damage.
• Psoriatic arthritis – To improve joint symptoms and function.
• Ulcerative colitis – To help achieve and maintain remission.
Your doctor will decide if it’s appropriate based on your condition.

How It Works:
Tofacitinib blocks specific enzymes (JAK pathways) involved in the immune response. By doing this, it reduces excessive inflammation and immune-mediated tissue damage.

How to Use:
Take one extended-release tablet once daily, usually with or without food, as directed by your doctor. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet; swallow whole.

Precautions:
• Use only under medical supervision.
• Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
• Tell your doctor about all other medicines you are taking.
• Regular blood tests may be needed while on treatment.
• Avoid live vaccines during treatment unless advised by your doctor.

Possible Side Effects:
Some people may experience headache, nausea, upper respiratory infections, or stomach discomfort. Less commonly, changes in blood counts, liver enzymes, or cholesterol can occur. Report any unusual symptoms such as fever, persistent cough, shortness of breath, rash, or severe fatigue to your doctor.
