UGESIC 20MG TABLET contains Piroxicam, which belongs to the group of medicines called Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs. It helps to reduce pain and swelling affecting the joints. It is also used to relieve the symptoms caused by osteoarthritis (a joint disease that occurs when the protective tissues at the end of the bones wear out and is characterised by joint pain in the hands, neck, and hip), rheumatoid arthritis (autoimmune disease-causing painful swelling of joints and stiffness), and ankylosing spondylitis (rheumatism of the spine resulting in a hunched forward posture).

UGESIC 20MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with heart problems, and it should be used with caution in patients with asthma, liver, and kidney problems. UGESIC 20MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women, especially during the last three months of pregnancy, and it should be used with caution during breastfeeding.

The safety and effectiveness of UGESIC 20MG TABLET in children and adolescents have not been established. UGESIC 20MG TABLET is not recommended for use in elderly patients of 80 years and above. The most common side effects of this medicine are nausea (feeling sick), vomiting, indigestion, stomach pain, skin rash, headache, and drowsiness. Consult your physician if any of the symptoms worsen.
