Visanne is a medication containing dienogest (2mg), a synthetic progestogen, primarily prescribed for the treatment of endometriosisa condition where tissue similar to the lining inside the uterus grows outside it, causing pelvic pain and other symptoms.

Uses:

  • Endometriosis Management: Visanne is utilized to alleviate the painful symptoms associated with endometrial lesions by reducing the activity of hormones that cause endometriosis, leading to the shrinkage of endometrial tissue.

Dosage and Administration:

  • Recommended Dosage: One tablet daily, taken continuously without breaks, preferably at the same time each day.

  • Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food.

Potential Side Effects:

  • Common Side Effects:
    • Headache
    • Breast discomfort
    • Mood swings

    • Weight gain
