ZOVIRAX SYRUP contains Acyclovir which belongs to the group of medicines called Antivirals. It is used for the management of chickenpox, shingles, cold sores, genital herpes and other herpes simplex infections. It is also used to manage recurrent attacks and herpes infections in people with low immunity.

Chickenpox is an infection caused by the varicella-zoster virus and symptoms include an itchy rash with small, fluid-filled blisters. Shingles are defined as the reaction of the chicken pox virus in the body causing a painful rash. Cold sores, (a virus causing contagious sores, most often around the mouth or on the genitals), genital herpes (a common sexually transmitted infection caused by the herpes simplex virus) and symptoms include genital pain and sores, pain, itching and small sores.

Before taking ZOVIRAX SYRUP inform your doctor if you have kidney problems or dehydration. ZOVIRAX SYRUP should be used with caution by pregnant and breastfeeding women only if recommended by your doctor. ZOVIRAX SYRUP should be used with caution in children under 12 years of age and elderly over 65 years of age. The most common side effects of taking ZOVIRAX SYRUP are headache and dizziness. Contact your doctor if the symptom gets worse or persists.
